DRIVE TO NORTHERN SERENGETI IN SEARCH FOR WILDBEESTS AND ZEBRAS MIGRATION TRYING TO CROSS THE MARA RIVER

0700hrs: On this day the guests will have breakfast at the lodge and then drive to Northern Serengeti National park in search for Wildebeests and Zebras migration.

Resident wildlife numbers are exceptionally high in this area. The key feature is the Mara River and there is a great chance to see the herds cross the Mara River to the north on one day and back south a few days later. Please note that it can be very difficult to witness crossing and is sometimes a matter of luck. A herd can be seen next to river and only decide to cross a couple of days later. This area is a stunning region with kopjes, woodland, riverine vegetation and open plains, similar to Kenya’s Masai Mara Game Reserve and lots of Carnivores as well such as Lions and Leopards.

Day4

A FULL DAY IN NORTHERN SERENGETI IN SEARCH FOR THE GREAT MIGRATION

0700hrs: The guests will have a full day exploring this side of Serengeti National Park in search for wildebeests and Zebras Migration.

Mara River is most famous for the legendary wildebeest crossing, a dramatic event, which is featured in countless wildlife documentaries. One of Tanzania’s best kept secrets is the fact that nearly half of the Mara River is situated in the North Serengeti versus the Masai Mara’s segment in Kenya. While there are hordes of vehicles just a few miles upriver in the Masai Mara, the Serengeti side is virtually devoid of tourists.

SPECIAL NOTES: Optional Balloon Ride at an extra cost on this area.

The whole park of Serengeti is a world heritage site, and the varied eco-system coupled with the huge volume of wildlife means you can spend ample time in different locations and never feel like you’ve seen it all. From the dramatic Kopjes in the north, to the acacia dotted endless plains to the south, it is not just the animals which makes a safari in the Serengeti so remarkable. In a nutshell, it is rightly the most celebrated wildlife reserves in the world; there is nowhere else to match it. It is outstanding!

Supported by a year round water supply and fodder, the Ngorongoro conservation Area supports variety of animals, which include herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo and giant African elephants. Another big draw card to this picturesque national park, is its dense population of predators, which include lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs and the ever-elusive leopard, which sometimes requires a trained eye to spot without forgetting a large number of flamingos, hippos and other water birds can usually be seen here.
